The Senior Facilities Engineer's primary purpose is to facilitate safe and efficient process plant operations by ensuring proper design and regulatory compliance of the company's Onshore Treating Facility (OTF) near Mobile Bay and the offshore platforms that feed sour gas and produced liquids to the OTF.
This Senior Facilities Engineer plans, monitors, manages, and reports on projects including engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and startup, while monitoring/improving operational KPIs, including process efficiencies, process volumes, downtime and maintenance costs.
Additionally, the Senior Facilities Engineer monitors mechanical integrity programs and works with chemical vendors, inspection teams and other mechanical integrity professionals to ensure adequate mechanical integrity is maintained.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
Prepare AFEs for projects in assigned area; track facilities AFE costs and submit supplemental AFE forms if/when projects goes over budget Review and approve purchase orders and invoices for facilities projects Review daily construction reports on the active projects to ensure projects are completed according to plans in a timely manner Serve as liaison between operational teams:
Production Operations, HSE&R and Management to report on status of projects and report delays Conduct site visits to facilities to support production operations and evaluate facilities for upcoming projects as needed Prepare and approve safety and compliance drawings for facilities and submit to regulatory agencies Set goals (deadlines, budgets, etc.
), track performance vs.
goals, analyze performance and make adjustments to improve performance; recognize and seize opportunities to implement process and program improvements Propose budgets on an annual basis for assigned areas Knowledgeable of OSHA and State of Alabama regulations related to process facilities
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering; Masters, PhD, and/or PE preferred Minimum of 10 years' upstream or midstream O&G industry experience and continuous drive for professional development Sour gas treating plant experience required Professional and clear communication in collaborating with individuals at different levels of the organization, including including senior leadership, construction managers, maintenance, accounting/purchasing, production/field operations, and HSE personnel.
Hands-on experience reviewing drawings for all platforms, safety systems, flow systems, electrical systems, etc.
Experience with regulations related to process facilities respective to the State of Alabama Preference of working in an environment where technical and financial challenges evolve into progressive career experience Strong computer skills.
