Summary:
The Facilities Engineering Advisor's primary purpose is to facilitate safe and efficient process plant operations by ensuring proper design and regulatory compliance of the company's Onshore Treating Facility (OTF) and the offshore platforms that feed sour gas and produced liquids to the OTF.
This Facilities Engineering Advisor plans, monitors, manages, and reports on projects including engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, decommissioning, and startup, while monitoring/improving operational KPIs including process efficiencies, process volumes, downtime and maintenance costs.
Additionally, the Facilities Engineering Advisor monitors mechanical integrity programs and works with chemical vendors, inspection teams, and other mechanical integrity professionals to ensure adequate mechanical integrity is maintained.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management Plan, monitor, and manage projects and respective budgets related to the onshore treatment facility and offshore platforms covering engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup phases.
Prepare AFEs for projects, track facilities AFE costs, and submit supplemental AFE forms as needed according to budget.
Review and approve purchase orders and invoices for facilities projects.
Review daily construction reports to ensure projects are completed according to plans in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with ongoing projects as needed.
Propose budgets on an annual basis for facilities in their area.
Regulatory Compliance and Design Oversight Prepare and approve safety and compliance drawings for facilities; submit to regulatory agencies (State of Alabama).
Ensure projects are executed within scope, budget, and timeline, adhering to regulatory compliance and industry standards.
Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards relevant to the facilities and implement necessary updates.
Conduct site visits to facilities to support production operations and evaluate facilities for upcoming projects.
Operational KPI Monitoring Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiencies, process volumes, downtime, and maintenance costs.
Implement strategies to optimize plant operations and enhance overall efficiency.
Mechanical Integrity Develop and implement equipment asset plans using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Risk Based Inspections (RBI), and other reliability techniques.
Collaborate with chemical vendors, inspection teams, and internal/external teams to ensure ongoing maintenance of adequate mechanical integrity.
Diagnose root cause of equipment failures, conduct equipment performance evaluations, and repair issues.
Collaboration and Communication Serve as liaison between operational teams:
Production Operations, HSE&R and Management to report on status of projects and report delays.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on project status, KPIs, mechanical integrity, and opportunities for efficiencies.
Present findings written and verbally to counterparts, stakeholders, and executives.
Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
Minimum of 10 years experience within the upstream or midstream O&G industry required.
Sour gas treatment plant experience is required.
Private equity company experience preferred Proven success setting goals (deadlines, budgets, etc.
), tracking performance vs.
goals, analyzing performance and making adjustments to improve performance.
Recognizes opportunities to implement process and program improvements.
Professionally communicates with individuals at different levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
Professionally represents W&T Offshore when working with suppliers, government agencies and other outside parties.
Works both independently and in a team setting.
Enjoys working in an environment where technical and financial challenges will allow the employee to grow their skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word) and MS Project.
Knowledgeable of OSHA and State of Alabama regulations related to process facilities Exceptional time management skills.
