POSITION Overview:
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) Machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of operations to produce metal various common and exotic for our product lineThe employee would be responsible for loading and unloading metal parts, changing tooling, reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings for the needed specificationsThe CNC Machinist position would require working knowledge of press breaks and lasersThe CNC Production Manager will ensure safety, quality, and schedule requirements are met dailyThe CNC Machinist will report to the Production Manager.
CNC Machine Operator General ResponsibilitiesRead work orders and blueprints (materials, specifications, and geometric dimensions and tolerances) to machine products accuratelyAssist Production Manager in inspections of equipment, materials, and productsPrepares and loads raw materials and parts onto the machinesMonitors the machines while they execute the tasks and makes any necessary adjustments to produce a better resultChoosing, changing, and loading the correct cutting tools for the jobUtilizes precision measuring tools to inspect and measure products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly and meets quality standardsDocuments actions by completing production logsChecks, cleans, and maintains machinery daily to ensure functionalityCapable of setting up mills and lathes by installing fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications is a plusPossesses ethical behavior, attention to detail, self-motivation, precision, and enforces quality standardsRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to speak and read English fluently, and have good written and verbal communication3-5 of experience working with CNC Machines or in a manufacturing plant preferredPrevious experience with lathes, mills, press breaks, plasma machines, small hand tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are a plusLearns and applies the latest relevant knowledge to the workPossesses ethical behavior, attention to detail, self-motivation, precision, and enforces quality standardsAbility to lift 50 pounds regularlyAbility to stand for long periods of time, squat, kneel, and crawl.
Ability to work overtime, and after-hours when required.
