Design Engineer - Cryogenic Trailers



Summary


Worthington's cryogenic transport trailers are customized to meet the unique needs of our customers and designed to run for years to come. Our trailers feature lightweight aluminum or stainless steel liners for the safe transportation of the specialty liquified gases


This position's primary responsibilities include design and manufacturing support for new cryogenic trailer production and repair work.  Requires strong communication skills and interaction with both internal and external customers. Must be a strong team play with the ability to adapt to various tasks. 



Responsibilities



  • Create and maintain product drawings, models, and assemblies using Solid Works 3D software for use by manufacturing and sales

  • Support product changes via established change processes

  • Perform design calculations necessary for accurate product designs & conduct design validation

  • Create and maintain product bills of materials

  • Support customer inquiries and make product design recommendations to meet customer requirements

  • Assist in the development of product quotes in response to customer inquiries

  • Provide technical support and trouble shooting

  • Provide production support and work collaboratively to resolve manufacturing issues

  • Support purchasing w/material and part sourcing

  • Oversee the creation and management of project schedules



Desired Experience



  • 4+ years product design experience

  • Proficient in Solid Works

  • CREO/ProE and AutoCAD a plus

  • Cryogenic trailer design/manufacturing experience a plus

  • Knowledge of Mechanical design

  • Knowledge of ASME design code Section VIII Div 1 design code and Section II material specifications

  • Knowledge of DOT regulaations, in particular, MC-338 trailer

  • Root cause analysis

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proficient in use of MicroSoft Office

  • Experience in Project Management a plus

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
