Operations Technician

As an Operations Technician, you?ll perform a variety of tasks, including reading and interpreting drawings, supporting pipeline operations, safely maintaining facility equipment and analyzing data to solve technical and operational problems. Knowledge of permits and compliance, accurate record-keeping and a focus on safety will bring success in this role.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
+ Performs a variety of tasks to safely maintain facility equipment and support pipeline operations, including reading/interpreting drawings, inspecting/monitoring equipment and maintaining operation/technical standards and/or governmental requirements
+ Responsible for data analysis and collaboration with others to find solutions to technical or operational problems
+ Follows all Company policies and applies appropriate operating and maintenance procedures
+ Acquires knowledge of and complies with requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, execution of tasks, protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets
+ Maintains general knowledge of site/location/equipment specific permits and compliance
+ Completes assigned reports, logs and maintains accurate records of process operations and performance of preventative maintenance on equipment
+ Operate and maintain Offshore Platforms, Meter Stations, Pipeline Facilities and Corrosion Control.
+ Perform preventive maintenance on Valves, Flow Automation Flow Computers, Daniel?s Meter Runs and associated metering equipment.
+ Perform Pipeline Operations, Gas Measurement, and Maintenance tasks. (Load, unload and launch pigs, chemical injection operations, etc).
+ Perform Generator preventive maintenance.
+ Perform general Offshore Crane Maintenance, Inspection and Operation.
+ Responsible for the work efforts of contract maintenance crews
+ Strong mechanical skills
+ Complete/Maintain Regulatory Compliance and related Documentation and inspections with USCG, BSEE, DOT, etc.
INSTRUMENTATION/ELECTRONICS
Preferred
+ + Troubleshoots, operates, repairs and maintains all mechanical and electrical systems including both low and high voltage offshore platform equipment
+ Experience with Honeywell DCS and/or Allen Bradley PLCs
+ Maintain and troubleshoot all related platform subsystems which include: (ESD system, pneumatic panels etc.)
Education/Years of Experience:
+ Required: High School Diploma/GED and minimum of three (3) years? experience as an Operations Technician or similar role
+ Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree and minimum of two (2) years? experience as an Operations Technician in the Oil and Gas Industry
Physical and Environment Work Requirements:
Must be able to:
+ Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
+ Carry and lift items that weigh a minimum of 50 lbs
+ Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
+ Work at elevated levels, , ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
+ Use hand tools
+ Must have the ability to travel by Boat or Helicopter to Offshore Platforms, and obtain a HUET ?Helicopter Underwater Egress Training? and US Coast Guard Approved Water Survival course completion certificate.
+ Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
+ Must be able to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holiday as needed
+ Currently a 4 day a week schedule but could change at any time depending on workloads and projects to a 7&7 or short stretches of 14&14 or more continued working days. Must be able to spend multiple nights offshore on platforms, boats, etc during offshore projects.
Other Requirements:
+ Must possess valid State Driver?s License and clean driving record
+ Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
+ Needs proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills and proficient/advanced knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
+ Possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
